Meet Dr. Day
Dr. Day began her academic work at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree with honors in Biochemistry. She was then commissioned as a Naval Officer, and went on to earn a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Indiana University School of Dentistry. Upon graduation, Dr. Day was promoted to Lieutenant and completed a credentialing tour at MCRD, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island providing high quality dental treatment to our fine marines, sailors and marine recruits. Dr. Day then moved to North Florida and served three years at Kings Bay Submarine Base in Kingsland, Georgia. After completing her commitment to the Navy, Dr. Day and her family decided to call Florida home.
The most important thing you need to know about Dr. Day is that she does not compromise things that matter. Things like honesty, integrity, and treating others the way they want to be treated. That is why she will only recommend the same care she would provide to her own family.
Dr. Day is enthusiastic about continuing education and staying on the cutting edge of dentistry. Thus, she maintains memberships in many prestigious professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, The American Academy of General Dentistry and the Jacksonville Dental Society.
Best of all, Dr. Day has a team-focused, patient care approach that creates an innovative, inclusive and fun environment for patients and Team Members at Family Smiles of Fleming Island. At the very heart, she possesses a fundamental love of her vocation and a genuine caring for people. As her patients will attest, she is a very kind and compassionate dentist.
On a personal note, Dr. Day was born and raised in Nashville, TN. Besides dentistry, Dr. Day enjoys traveling, staying active, visiting the beach and spending time with her family. She and her husband, JP, have two beautiful children, Scarlett and Isla Rose, and an English Cream Retriever named Bentley.
